چکیده

Abstract Background Jumps are predominant components in football (soccer). Interlimb functional difference single-leg jump performance is a risk factor for lower extremities injuries. Screening uninjured athletes essential to design prevention strategies and implement individual training interventions. The aims of this cross-sectional study were (1) provide age-specific mean values limb symmetry index (LSI) young players, (2) detect age effect on LSI interlimb differences (3) investigate the association with LSI. Methods A total 146 male players (age 14.2 ± 2.3) performed countermovement jump, distance, side hop speedy tests. Descriptive statistics, (dominant/non-dominant) provided according groups (U11–U19). Two-way mixed analysis variance (ANOVA), one-way ANOVA Pearson’s correlation used statistical analysis. Results Participants showed average perfect (103.8 14.2%) amongst all tests groups. occurred three out four ( p < 0.05), without interaction > 0.05). Age was positively associated but not Conclusion An ≥100% proposed as benchmark may occur interaction. Nevertheless, growth process plays crucial role development capacities: older show higher performance, LSI, than younger players. In practice, preventive intervention advisable counteract differences, which unilateral strength, power plyometric recommended.

Repeatability of Ground Reaction Force during Jump-Landing in Volleyball Players with Functional Ankle Instability

Background and Aims: The accurate mechanisms of ankle instability cannot be assessed in the absence of reliable knowledge about ground reaction force (GRF) variables. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of GRF variables during forward and lateral jump-landing in volleyball players with functional ankle instability (FAI). Methods: Eighteen professional volle...

Effect of Genu Varum Deformity on Gluteus Medius Muscle Activity and Postural Control During Single-Leg Jump-Landing

Purpose: Genu varum deformity changes the line of gravity from center of knee towards the medial side. This deviation results in changes in the upper part of the lower extremity that can affect postural control as well as the position and activity of the proximal muscles of the knee joint, like the gluteus medius muscle. Therefore this study aims to investigate the effect of genu varum disorder...

Gender and bilateral differences in single-leg countermovement jump performance with comparison to a double-leg jump.

Expectations may be for both legs to function identically during single- and double-leg vertical jumps. However, several reasons might prevent this from occurring. The goals of this investigation were twofold: assess the presence of side-to-side jump height differences during single-leg jumps in a homogenous group of healthy subjects and determine if those with a jump height asymmetry possessed...

Effect of Various Warm-Up Protocols on Jump Performance in College Football Players

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of warm-up strategies on countermovement jump performance. Twenty-nine male college football players (age: 19.4 ± 1.1 years; body height: 179.0 ± 5.1 cm; body mass: 73.1 ± 8.0 kg; % body fat: 11.1 ± 2.7) from the Tuzla University underwent a control (no warm-up) and different warm-up conditions: 1. general warm-up; 2. general warm-up with dy...
